Elizabeth Cahill has received specific advanced training to enhance her skills in providing pediatric massage therapy. Through her advanced training as a CPMT she has learned to provide massage therapy for children with special health care needs, children who are hospitalized or have been diagnosed with a terminal illness in hospice care.
Elizabeth has knowledge of various massage techniques for working with children with varied physical, developmental, emotional and mental challenges and has practiced these skills during hands-on in class sessions.
During her training, Elizabeth has learned methods of respectful approach, meeting children at their level and respect for their personal space. She has also learned unique communication skills to expand interaction and how to engage children during massage sessions.
Due to the sensitive nature of providing massage therapy for children Elizabeth has learned the great importance of professional boundaries, safety guidlines and patient privacy.
